What a great kick-off to the Dime 2011 event! The overarching theme in the first panel proved to be that new media provides unique channels that change the way people consume media and interact with brands. New media strategies are allowing companies to connect with their consumers on a more personal level, while individuals are able to create strong digital personas and develop their own brand. As more individuals participate in these channels, personal networks are spreading from traditional hubs to feeding new technical hotspots. In fact, Ann Van Orsdel, President of The 1st Movement, made the transition from Silicon Valley to Denver because of the lifestyle opportunities Colorado has to offer. Can’t wait to see what the second panel has to offer and learn more about how Colorado is setting the curve in technical innovation.
This past fall, Colorado Creative Industries as well as a “dream team” of creative professionals from the Denver area, approached the students of Boulder Digital Works to collaborate on developing a campaign to highlight Colorado as a international creative hub. While we all knew that Colorado was a treasure trove of creative minds, it seemed like a daunting task to broadcast it to the rest of the world. Our solution: establish an online community where creative individuals and businesses across the state could share their work and communicate and collaborate with others. After months of research, countless trips between Denver and Boulder, and whole lot of Colorado pride, Coloradocreates.com was born, aimed to gather thousands of voices to declare Colorado a State of Creativity!
